Chloé is one of the world’s foremost high-fashion houses, known for the luxe femininity of its beautiful ready-to-wear collections. Natacha Ramsay-Levi is known to be the life and spirit of Chloé, but was founded in 1952 by Gaby Aghion.
Stella McCartney, Phoebe Philo and Hannah MacGibbon all designed for Chloé, but it is the Egyptian-born Gaby Aghion who began it all. She might not be a household name like her brand - Aghion named Chloé after a friend she believed embodied the carefree attitude of the modern young woman at the time. But the 91-year-old is a pioneer when it comes to women designing for other women.
While the first Chloé boutique didn’t open until 1971, during the 1960's the fashion house became widely acknowledged as a popular brand that symbolised youth and femininity.
In the majority of Chloe's collection you will always see something girly and trendy. i feel this is what makes this brand what it is. I love how there is a mix of garments, there will always be a pretty pink dress but there is a lot of smaller pieces like tops and jackets that are ready to wear of the cat walk and on the streets.
